(87) November 11, 2018. To give away all you have is to understand all you have is not your to keep. We give love away. Our time to work, play, rest is all given away to memories. What we own is ours only for a little while. The only possession we keep that Jesus freely gave away is eternal life and love. This is where my unending joy comes from from!
And today at St. Alphonsus in Lemont, IL. is where Fr. Robert R. Rohrich spoke of giving away all we have to the fullest. To give only a small portion of anything is not enough. But to give away with your whole heart is how Jesus gives to us. We’re not expected to live without belongings. Only to live detached from our belonging. So that we are not materialistic slaves.
Although St. Alphonsus went through extensive remodeling, it felt as if it was newly built and 1867 again. The hymns, homily and filled pews gave me the feeling of that period of time. What was old is new again. The Mystical Body of Christ is alive and well in this Place of Worship.
