(104) March 6,8,10, 2019. There’s no place like home sweet worshipping home. After two years of being away it did my heart good to return to “Divine Infant Jesus”.
It wasn’t my plan but God’s to receive ashes there on Wednesday. Attend a dear friend’s husband’s funeral mass there on Friday. Then returning today to celebrate Mass with a faith community my heart longed to see again.
This parish gave me the foundation in Catholicism. Here is where my troubled heart found peace, understanding and courage to be a child of God. In return the light that burned in my soul wanted to serve God in thanks for giving me purpose to this life.
In Fr. Tim Fiala’s homily today, he spoke about being in a personal desert during Lent. How giving up things are actually not a bad idea. It draws us closer to God. In giving up my fear to return to “Divine Infant Jesus”, Jesus has drawn me closer to himself.
