(130) September 7, 2019. With my Grandson in toe, we made our way to “Visitation”. As we claimed the third pew from the alter, we were greeted with smiling faces that once were children and now seniors. People who remember being brought to Mass by their parents (or grandparents). Raised in the Church to form a relationship with Christ.

Today’s Gospel was disturbing until the Deacon’s explanation cleared it up. Hate my parents in order to follow Christ. Make sure to have enough funds to complete the project. Carry my cross without help. All explained eloquently. It was a parable written a long time ago to get people’s attention. It surely got ours today. Simply put, love ~ believe ~ trust. Love Christ above all else. In loving Christ, we love our parents and others. Believing in Christ is to have enough in building our lives. Trusting the crosses we carry are no match to the Cross Jesus carried for us.
