Basilica of the Sacred Heart

(84) October 21, 2018. Some time ago the seed was planted to attend Mass at “The Basilica of the Sacred Heart”. And so this roaming Catholic took a scenic fall drive to the University of Notre Dame du Lac campus in Indiana.

Made it in time, just moments before Mass began. The Church was completely filled with all ages of life. And the great meaning of life was Fr. William Beauchamp’s message. So many strive for greatness. There is only “One Great I am” and none of us are it. Jesus taught his disciples it’s much better to be servants to one another and leave the greatness to God. There is no greatness in self serving. Jesus’ life exemplified holiness for us to try and follow. So that when our lives are done future generations may follow too.

After touring this beautiful Basilica and campus, maybe the seed of hope will lead my Grandson to study here.
