Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church

(70) July 15, 2018. Why wake up early Sunday morning? Why dress up? Why dedicate my day of rest to travel to a place I’ve never been to before? Because I can’t imagine not doing it.

Woke up and dressed up to meet Jesus at San Francisco de Asia, AKA “St. Francis of Assisi”. 813 W. Roosevelt Rd, Chicago

Father Walter Mallo described the incredible history of this beautiful church to me which included a closure back in 1996. But a group of faithful Latinos refused to let a wrecking ball destroy their House of Worship. Thank God their prayers were answered, and today the pews were full!

I share a love for animals with Saint Francis, and it seemed appropriate that Kimball, a seeing eye dog was also in attendance.
