(97) January 20, 2019. Took a chance last night and Googled St. Adalbert in Chicago. To my surprise there was a 10 am English Mass.

Not to long ago a music school was to have purchased the Church. The deal fell through and now the Church is back for sale. Second generation parishioner, Anina Jakubowski told me about St. Adalbert and a few personal stories that formed her faith formation here. Her parents were immigrants from Poland that helped build this House of Worship. And now the fate of this magnificent structure is deemed to close. Breaking the hearts of those who are going to continue attending Mass until the doors lock them out.

My prayer is before St. Adalbert’s story is over people will see the Spirit and beauty of this Church that is so much more than brick and mortar.
