June 13, 2021. Today’s path to Mass lead me to “St. Benedict the African”, named after a lay Franciscan hermit who wasn’t a priest and never learned to read. His pious life was dedicated to serving God as a spiritual guide and cook, born in 1526 and died 1589.
Fast forward today, Fr. David Jones read us The Gospel, fed us The Eucharist and in between gave us a powerful homily to take home and reflect on. “Rather than wondering if Jesus is in you, the question should be is Jesus in me?”. God is always trying to tell us something and by planting our faith in Him is how our graces grow.
As my spiritual treasure chest was filled with joy here, St. Benedict the African continues to feed and teach through this Church and Her people.
